Celebrating our Impetus partnership

The Access Project Alum at UCL

Ten years ago, The Access Project was a young fledgling charity, passionate about making a difference for pupils from disadvantaged communities. Our mission was clear but the pathway to becoming an impactful organisation was harder to navigate.

This is when our friends at Impetus came on board. It was evident that our missions were aligned: Impetus transforms the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by ensuring they get the right support to succeed in school, in work and in life. The team at Impetus provided us with a bespoke programme of support which enabled us to grow, to get stronger and to make a greater impact.

Throughout this time, we have been hugely grateful for Impetus’ support and the benefits gained from being a member of their portfolio of charity partners.

Ten years on, we have just released our new growth strategy, Accelerating Ambition, which will steer our course for the next five years. We have developed new programmes to focus on the most impactful aspects of our model so that we can help greater numbers of young people and increase social mobility.

No longer a fledgling charity, it seems an appropriate time for us to celebrate our long-standing partnership with Impetus and graduate from their portfolio.

Anna Searle, our Chief Executive Officer, adds:

“We remain indebted to Impetus for their support and guidance over the last ten years. We wish to express our thanks for all that they have done in helping us to support over 10,000 pupils from under-resourced areas and grow our income by 22%. We look forward to joining a new network of Impetus alumni organisations that will launch this Autumn.”

We rely on the generous support of our partners and donors to ensure we are reaching the young people that need us most. By partnering with us, you’re helping the country’s most under-resourced young people find their way to a brighter future.
