Schools
We work with eligible schools who share our belief that every young person, regardless of background, can make the most of their education. We do this through our programmes of tuition, coaching and in-school mentoring.
We work with schools to remove the barriers under-resourced students face in reaching their full potential, and in doing so help to create a fairer society. Our proven success in doing this in more than 40 schools across the country is in large part due to the strong partnership model we build with schools.
Partnering with The Access Project provides a wide range of benefits for your school and your students. We can work with you to boost your students’ grades, raise their aspirations and improve their future prospects.
Our programme is proven to improve a young person’s chances of getting into university. Our students are 50% more likely than their statistically similar peers to place at a top university.
Enhanced student support
We’ll work with you to tailor our programme to your students’ needs. Our programmes include university readiness mentoring and enrichment activities as standard, with options for life skills coaching and additional GCSE or A level subject tuition.
Dedicated in-school mentors
When your school joins The Access Project, we’ll embed a dedicated member of staff in school to mentor your students and provide workshops and one-to-one support about university applications, student finance, progression options and more.
Trips and activities
We’ll work with you to organise enrichment activities and trips for your students. All of our students will have the opportunity to attend an away day at one of our partner universities, such as the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge.

Who do we work with?
We work with more than 40 schools across England, spanning Greater London, the West Midlands, the East Midlands, Cumbria, Lancashire, and West Yorkshire.
Our partner schools are non-selective state schools with high numbers of students on Free School Meals, receiving Pupil Premium funding or with low levels of progression to top universities.
We’re always on the lookout for new partners to expand our programme to reach more students and new regions.
