Our research
We analyse our impact data and undertake research to stay at the forefront of educational best practice.
Informing and influencing policy
Our research work is focused on combating educational inequality and improving social mobility for students from under-resourced backgrounds. Most recently, our research topics have included the impact of the cost of living on university choices and the effectiveness of mentoring on student aspirations.
The ultimate goal of our policy and research work is to translate our research findings into actionable policies that foster educational equity. As we strengthen our voice in the educational policy arena, we contribute to the national conversation on education.
Utilising our impact data
We believe in the power of data to drive meaningful change. Our extensive impact data is a vital resource in our research efforts, providing a comprehensive picture of our students’ progress and achievements. By analysing this data, we can identify trends, measure the effectiveness of our programmes, and make informed decisions about where to focus our efforts.
Our impact data not only helps us improve our own practices but also contributes to the broader educational discourse. Through collaboration with educators and other key stakeholders, we advocate for evidence-based approaches to education that can make a real difference to the lives of young people.
Student voice
Our commitment to research is reflected in our hands-on approach. We actively involve our students in the research process, ensuring that their voices and experiences shape our findings. Through surveys, interviews and focus groups, we gather firsthand data that provides a nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by our students. This student-centric research approach ensures that our programmes are not only evidence-based but also tailored to the real-world needs of those we serve.
