Going to a top university gives students the best chance of social mobility. Higher education opens doors to better job opportunities, higher earning potential, and ultimately, a shift in the socioeconomic landscape. However, students from the areas in which we work are significantly under-represented at these universities. Our widening participation work challenges this and helps more students from under-resourced backgrounds unlock a pathway to higher education.

Since 2008, we have supported over 10,000 students, helping them to realise their potential and transform their future prospects.

According to an external evaluation by UCAS, our students are 50% more likely to attend top universities than statistically similar peers.

“I’m the first in my family to go to university and moreover I’m on the precipice of breaking a generational cycle of poverty. This path that I’ve been on for the past couple of years all started with these voices in my life pushing me to become a better version of myself. For this journey that I’m on now, I can unequivocally say that it would not have been possible without The Access Project.”
